Heathsville Airport serves Heathsville, US.
Heathsville Airport (US-7771) in Heathsville, US, is officially closed. The airport, also known as 7W7, was a turf field with a 2,400-foot unpaved runway, though the 1971 Washington Sectional Chart depicted it as 3,100 feet. It operated as a public-use airport, offering an air taxi service and tie-downs for rent, with the owner, Mr. Clark, keeping a Mooney there.
The airport's status changed to private between 1990 and 1994, and it was reportedly closed in 1992, though it remained open for about a year after Mr. Clark sold the property to a farmer who had no interest in flying. By 2005, a building had been constructed over the northern portion of the runway, and by 2007, the runway cones were removed, and the land was plowed and became part of a soybean field. Today, the runway's location can still be discerned from the soybean field, and as of 2013, it was still marked on Google Maps despite no longer appearing on sectional charts.
