Miller Army Airfield serves Chiniak, US.
Miller Army Airfield (US-2917) in Chiniak, Alaska, was constructed during WWII as a fighter landing strip and was abandoned in the late 1970s. Historically, P-3 Orions from Moffett Field used the airfield to retrieve Corona spy satellite film dropped by C-130s in the 1960s. The airfield also served as a US Coast Guard direction-finding station from 1945 to 1946. As of 1998, the runway was severely potholed with partially removed Marston matting and was not suitable for landing airplanes.
