Cuddeback Lake Gunnery Range Landing Strip serves Atolia, US.
Cuddeback Lake Gunnery Range Landing Strip (US-2419), also known as Cuddeback Airfield, was a military training facility and emergency landing strip in the Mojave Desert, California, near Atolia. It operated from 1959 to 1983, primarily for air-to-ground gunnery, bombing, and missile training, and as an emergency landing site for the X-15 program. The site was part of George Air Force Base and supported operations for various aircraft, including the F-105 Thunderchief and F-4 Phantom II.
The facility ceased operations in 1983, and its ownership was transferred from the Air Force to the Bureau of Land Management in 1992. While the buildings have been removed, the runway remains intact and is occasionally used for UAV training. In 2019, the Navy acquired the former range for drone testing, expeditionary warfare, and ground troop training.
