Indian Ranch Road Landing Strip

The Indian Ranch Road Landing Strip (US-2121) is not a formally recognized private airport or airfield in the traditional sense. Instead, it refers to the main graded dirt road within the Ballarat Ghost Town in California, which is used as a landing area for private aircraft.

• Type of Facility: This is an informal landing area on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land, utilizing the main dirt road of the Ballarat Ghost Town. It is considered a backcountry airstrip.
• Location and Basic Runway Information: The landing area is located at the Ballarat Ghost Town, near Death Valley National Park, with approximate coordinates 36.046° N, -117.226° W and an elevation of 1060 feet Mean Sea Level (MSL). The main southwest-northeast road serves as the usual landing area. A flag by the main building acts as a wind indicator.
• Known Uses: It is used by private aviators, particularly those interested in backcountry flying and visiting the historic ghost town.
