US-1949 in 20 seconds
Quartz Hill Airport serves Lancaster, US.

Quartz Hill Airport, located in Quartz Hill, California, not Lancaster, operated as a general aviation airport from 1946 until its closure in 1986 due to housing developments. The airport was initially approved by the Regional Planning Commission of Los Angeles County and opened on March 10, 1946. It was known for its unpaved, dirt, or gravel runways, which varied in length over the years, and was operated by several individuals and entities, including Doc Burch, who owned it for 20 years. By 1982, it was designated a private field. The site is now largely covered by housing developments, though a concrete run-up pad at the southwest corner remains as a trace of the former airport.
