Hawk Field

The official reason is undocumented. As a small, private airstrip (historically known as Gunderson Field) on farmland, it was most likely closed after the owner ceased flying activities, sold the property, or converted the land fully to more profitable agricultural use.

The site is now private farmland. The outline of the former grass runway is still faintly visible on satellite imagery as a mowed strip within a larger agricultural field, but it is no longer maintained or used for any aviation purposes.

This airfield was a private general aviation strip, historically known as Gunderson Field. It was not a public airport and its significance was local, serving its owner for personal and recreational flying from approximately 1970. Operations involved light, single-engine aircraft on a single unpaved turf runway about 2,600 feet long. The identifier 'US-11337' is a non-official code from a third-party database; the field had no official FAA or ICAO identifier.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the airfield. The land is privately owned and fully integrated into an active farm, making a return to aviation use highly improbable.
