Satellite imagery clearly shows the outline of the former turf runway, but it is heavily overgrown with grass and vegetation, making it completely unusable for aviation. The land appears to be part of a rural residential or agricultural property.

The airfield was a private general aviation facility known historically as Thistlewood Airport, with the FAA location identifier GA91. It was not a major commercial or military airport and its significance was local. It became active sometime between 1974 and 1980. Operations were limited to light, single-engine private aircraft. It featured a single unpaved turf runway, oriented approximately NNE/SSW, with a listed length of 2,600 feet. The identifier 'US-11301' is a non-official designator used by some third-party airport databases after its closure.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Thistle Field / Thistlewood Airport. Given its long period of disuse, overgrown condition, and status as private property, it is highly unlikely to be reactivated as an airfield.
