Rowco, Inc Heliport

The closure was due to economic reasons, specifically the dissolution of the owner and operator, Rowco, Inc. As a private-use heliport, its existence was tied directly to the operational needs of the construction company. When the company ceased to exist, the heliport was decommissioned and the land was sold for redevelopment.

The site has been completely redeveloped. The coordinates (29.5466, -98.410598) point to what is now a large commercial office complex and its associated multi-level parking garage, located near the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Starcrest Drive. There are no remaining traces of the former heliport.

The Rowco, Inc. Heliport was a private facility with no major public or historical significance. Its purpose was purely commercial, serving the needs of the Rowco, Inc. construction and paving company. Operations would have primarily included executive transport for company officials to and from job sites, aerial surveying of construction projects across the San Antonio area, and possibly the rapid transport of small, critical parts or personnel.

There are no plans or prospects for reopening the heliport. The land has been permanently and densely redeveloped for commercial office use, making it physically impossible to re-establish an aviation facility at this location.
