Hinkels Heliport

The heliport was closed permanently following the death of its owner. As a 'Private Use' facility, its operational status was directly tied to the owner. Upon his passing, the facility was decommissioned as it was no longer in use.

The site is now a private residential property. Satellite imagery of the coordinates shows a home with a large, open, and well-maintained lawn. The clearing that once served as the helicopter landing zone is still visible but is now simply part of the residential yard, with no signs of active aviation infrastructure or markings. The private road accessing the property is named Hinkel Drive.

Hinkels Heliport had no major commercial or public historical significance. It was a private heliport established for the personal use of its owner, Robert Hinkel, at his residence. Aviation records indicate the owner specifically requested the heliport not be charted on aeronautical maps, highlighting its strictly private nature. Its operations were limited to the owner's personal helicopter flights.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Hinkels Heliport. It is officially and permanently closed. As the land is a private residence, any future aviation use would be solely at the discretion of the current landowners and would require new registration and approval, which is considered highly unlikely.
