Browns Heliport

Browns Heliport was a 'Private Use' facility registered to an individual, Donald L. Brown. The closure was a private decision by the owner and not due to external factors like public economic failure, a major accident, or military conversion. Such closures are common for private airfields when the owner ceases flying activities, sells the property, or for other personal reasons.

The site of the former heliport is now a private residential property. Satellite imagery of the coordinates shows a house with a large, mowed grassy area where the landing zone was likely located. There is no remaining aviation infrastructure, such as markings, lighting, or a hangar specifically designated for a helicopter. The land is used exclusively for residential purposes.

The heliport had minimal public or historical significance. As a private facility, its operations were restricted to the owner and their invitees. It was not used for commercial operations such as battlefield tours, public transport, or flight instruction. Its primary function was to serve the personal and/or business transportation needs of its owner. The heliport is an example of the many private general aviation facilities that existed across the United States for personal use during the late 20th century.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Browns Heliport. Since the land is a private residence and the heliport has been officially deactivated for over a decade, reopening is highly improbable. Any effort to re-establish a heliport at this location would require the current landowner to initiate and complete a new registration and certification process with the FAA, which is unlikely.
