Circa 2007-2011. The airport was last listed in the FAA Airport/Facility Directory in 2000, and aerial imagery from 2006 shows a well-maintained strip. By 2011, the runway showed signs of disuse and was no longer being actively maintained.
Cessation of aviation activities by the private owner. As a private-use airfield on a farm, its closure was not due to economic failure, military conversion, or a major accident, but rather a personal decision by the owner to no longer operate an airfield on the property. This is a common fate for small, private airstrips.
The site has reverted to agricultural use. Satellite imagery clearly shows the faint outline of the former 2,200-foot runway, but it is no longer mown or maintained for aviation. The land is now used as a hay field or pasture, fully integrated with the surrounding Tims Angus Farm. A nearby building that may have served as a hangar appears to be used for farm storage.
Tims Angus Farm Airport was a private-use airfield serving the personal and business needs of its owner, Richard Tims. Its significance was local, representing a typical American farm strip that allowed for convenient general aviation travel directly from a rural property. When active, it featured a single turf runway (designated 1/19) measuring approximately 2,200 feet long by 100 feet wide. It would have handled light, single-engine aircraft capable of operating from a short grass field.
None. There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the airport. As the land is privately owned and has been successfully repurposed for agriculture for over a decade, a return to aviation use is highly improbable. It would require a significant investment and a renewed interest in aviation from the current landowner.
