Official taxi services are available at the stands outside Terminal A. Ride-sharing apps like Uber, Bolt, and Uklon are also popular, reliable, and can be ordered upon arrival. A trip to the city center typically takes 20-40 minutes depending on traffic. Payment can be made with cash (UAH) or a credit card linked to the app.
Car rental desks for international companies like Sixt, Avis, Budget, and Hertz are located inside Terminal A. It is advisable to book your vehicle online in advance for better rates and availability. A valid driver's license, passport, and a credit card for the deposit are required. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is also recommended.
The airport is connected to the city by several budget-friendly public transport options. The bus stop is located a short walk from the terminal exit.
- **Trolleybuses:** Route №9 is a direct link to the city center (Palats Sportu metro station). Route №22 connects to Shuliavska and Dorohozhychi metro stations.
- **Marshrutkas (Minibuses):** Key routes include №565 (to Shuliavska metro station) and №368 (to Vokzalna - Central Railway Station).
Fares are very low and are typically paid in cash (UAH) to the driver.
I took Yanair from Kiev to Tbilisi in October 2016.

Takes too much time to get in from custom
The most disorganized & chaotic place I ever came across! The custom officers believe they have God given right to create their own rules & simply rob the travellers by using their official position. A lot of disrespect & shoking behaviour, especially from teenage custom officers- Forostovez & Gerasimov on the international departures. What a way to present the country! Shame on you!!!
This is Kiev's original, smaller airport (Boryspil, further out of town, is the main one).
As of 2009-01-22, the airport is still temporarily closed for repairs and upgrades (with all scheduled flights shifted to Boryspil), but is scheduled to reopen on 1 February.
