Abu Hajar Rumeilan Airport, SY.
Abu Hajar Rumeilan (SY-0020) is an airfield located near the town of Rmelan in the al-Hasakah Governorate of northeastern Syria.
Originally, it served as a private dirt-strip agricultural airfield for crop spraying until 2010, after which it was abandoned. Starting in late 2015, the airfield underwent significant reconstruction and expansion, reportedly with involvement from the United States, to be used for military logistics. Its runway, initially estimated at 700 meters (2,296 ft), was reportedly expanded to accommodate larger military transport aircraft like C-130s. The facility is now used for military and civilian purposes, specifically to support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in operations against ISIS. It is operated by entities including the People's Protection Units (YPG), CJTF–OIR (United States Central Command), United States Air Force, and United States Marine Corps.
