The aerodrome was officially removed from the Brazilian aviation authority (ANAC) records on October 26, 2017.
The closure was an administrative action by ANAC, officially listed as 'EXCLUĂDO' (Excluded/Deleted). For a private airstrip tied to a farm ('fazenda'), this type of closure is typically initiated by the owner. Common reasons include the sale of the property, the owner no longer operating aircraft, the high cost of maintenance and regulatory compliance, or the land being repurposed for more profitable agricultural use.
The airport is defunct and the site has been reclaimed by the surrounding agricultural landscape. Satellite imagery of the coordinates shows a faint outline of the former unpaved runway, but it is overgrown with vegetation and is indistinguishable from the adjacent pastures. The land is now used for farming or cattle grazing, with no remaining aviation infrastructure.
Fazenda Terra Forte Airport was a private aerodrome with no scheduled commercial operations. Its sole purpose was to serve the logistical needs of the 'Fazenda Terra Forte', a large farm or ranch. Operations would have consisted of general aviation aircraft used for transporting the property owners, personnel, and essential supplies to and from the remote rural location. It may have also supported agricultural aviation activities, such as crop dusting or land surveying.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Fazenda Terra Forte Airport. Since it was a private facility that has been officially deregistered and physically reclaimed for agriculture, any reactivation would be a significant private undertaking. A new owner would need to have a specific need for an airstrip, invest in constructing a new runway, and complete the entire complex and costly registration process with Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) from scratch. This is considered highly unlikely.
