It is operated by the Municipality of Arapongas under the supervision of Aeroportos do Paraná (SEIL). The airport is located approximately 9 kilometers northwest of the city center.

The facility primarily handles general and private aviation, including charter flights to regional centers, supporting the local economy focused on agriculture and industry. While there were past attempts in 2019 and 2022 to establish scheduled commercial passenger services through government programs and regional airlines, these services were subsequently canceled or abandoned, and currently, no scheduled flights operate at this airport.

Arapongas Airport features a single asphalt runway designated 16/34. Following an expansion project inaugurated in September 2023, the runway measures 1,401 meters in length and 30 meters in width, capable of accommodating small to medium aircraft.
