N/A - This facility is not closed.
N/A - The premise of the request is incorrect. The Borgo Maggiore Heliport is currently operational and has not been closed.
The Borgo Maggiore Heliport is fully operational. It is the primary aviation hub for the republic, located at the foot of Mount Titano in Borgo Maggiore, adjacent to the aerial tramway station. The site is actively used for private and commercial helicopter charters, government transport, and emergency medical flights connecting San Marino with Italian hospitals.
Inaugurated on June 19, 1985, the Borgo Maggiore Heliport is the only aviation facility within the Republic of San Marino. It was established to provide direct air access for government officials, medical emergencies, and tourism. Since its opening, it has consistently handled helicopter operations, including private charters, scenic tourist flights, and serving as a vital base for the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). The ICAO code SM-0001 is an unofficial, non-standard identifier; the heliport does not have an official ICAO location indicator.
N/A - As the heliport is not closed, there are no plans or prospects for reopening.
This bicycle itinerary lists parking lot P11 in Borgo Maggiore as the "ex-heliport". Looks like there are now zero active heliports here.

Per the following link, the Borgo Maggiore heliport was at the cable car station. This no longer appears to be the case, there is a "pad" but the cables run right over it!

The only helipad I know in San Marino is the one at San Marino Filed

Borgo Maggiore has an international heliport, but I have not been able to find an identifier or location for it. Right now, this airport is pointing to the main traffic circle in the centre of Borgo Maggiore, which almost certainly is *not* a heliport.
Please help if you know or can find the location.
