Kráľová pri Senci Airfield (SK-0097) was established in 1998, making it the first and only private airport founded in Slovakia after 1989. It commenced active operations in the spring of 1999, gaining permission from the Slovak Aviation Authority on September 6, 1999, to operate for airplanes up to 5700 kg. The airfield was a base for the Pilot Club, offering flying courses, aircraft rental and sales, aviation accessories, and services for ultralight planes. It also hosted various events, including ultralight aircraft meetings and navigation competitions, and offered scenic flights.
The airfield closed permanently around November 2017 due to a dispute among landowners which resulted in damage to the runway. As of 2017, the airport was no longer available. Currently, Kráľová pri Senci Airfield is classified as closed.

Approximately late 1990s to early 2000s. The exact date is not officially documented, but the airfield fell into disuse following the decline of its primary operator after the political and economic changes of the 1990s.
Primarily economic reasons. The airfield was an agricultural base for the state-owned company Slov-Air. After the Velvet Revolution and the subsequent dissolution and privatization of state agricultural enterprises, the extensive network of specialized agricultural airfields became economically unviable. The demand for large-scale aerial application decreased, leading to the abandonment of many such facilities, including Kráľová pri Senci.
The site is no longer an airfield. The former grass runway area has been largely returned to agricultural use and is now cultivated farmland. A significant portion of the former airfield and its immediate vicinity is now occupied by a large-scale solar power plant (Fotovoltická elektráreň Kráľová pri Senci). The original layout is faintly visible in satellite imagery, but the infrastructure has been dismantled or repurposed for agricultural or industrial storage.
The airfield was a key component of Czechoslovakia's dense agricultural aviation network. Its primary function was to serve as an operational base for crop-dusting and aerial application aircraft, most notably the Zlín Z-37 Čmelák ("Bumblebee") and occasionally the Antonov An-2. It supported the large-scale collective farms in the fertile Danubian Lowland region, playing a crucial role in the local agricultural economy during the socialist era. It was a utility airfield and was not used for scheduled passenger traffic or significant military operations.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the airfield. The land has been permanently redeveloped for energy production (the solar farm) and agriculture, which makes a return to aviation activities virtually impossible.
