Hässleholm Vankivar Airport

Economic and land-use change. The private landowner terminated the lease agreement with the Hässleholm Flying Club (Hässleholms Flygklubb). The landowner intended to repurpose the land for other commercial and agricultural activities, making the continued operation of an airfield unviable.

The site is permanently closed and no longer recognizable as an airport. A large commercial solar panel farm has been constructed on a significant portion of the former airfield grounds, including the southern part of the old runway. The remaining land has been fully converted back to agricultural use or is overgrown. The runway is gone, and any remaining infrastructure, such as the former clubhouse and hangars, has been repurposed for private or agricultural use.

Hässleholm Vankivar Airport was a private general aviation airfield that served as the home base for the Hässleholm Flying Club (Hässleholms Flygklubb) for several decades. Its primary function was to support recreational flying, flight training for private pilot licenses, and ultralight aircraft operations for the local community. The airfield featured an 800-meter grass runway (01/19) and was a significant local hub for aviation enthusiasts in the northern Skåne region.

Zero. There are no plans or prospects for reopening the airport. The land has been irreversibly redeveloped with the installation of the solar farm, making any future aviation activity at this specific location impossible. The former operator, Hässleholm Flying Club, successfully relocated its operations to the larger Kristianstad Österlen Airport (ICAO: ESMK) where it remains active.
