🇵🇭 Tandag Airport

Tandag Airport (IATA: TDG, ICAO: RPMW) is a public, minor domestic airport serving Tandag, Surigao del Sur, Philippines. It is one of two airports in Surigao del Sur, the other being Bislig Airport. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) classifies it as a Principal Class II airport.

Notable Features and History:

• The airport has one concrete runway, 03/21, measuring 1,452 meters (4,765 ft) long and 30 meters (98 ft) wide.
• Cebu Pacific, through CebGo, previously operated thrice-weekly flights between Cebu and Tandag using an ATR 72-500 aircraft, but discontinued the route on September 1, 2018, due to declining demand.
• In 2021, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) planned to extend the runway to attract airlines, and in 2024, airport improvements were listed as a priority project for Surigao del Sur.

Current Status:

• As of February 4, 2022, Tandag Airport was undergoing runway extension work, including the provision of a stopway and runway strip grade correction. A NOTAM (C1141/21) for this work was extended until March 27, 2022.
• The airport has a Flight Service Station (FSS) operating on 122.600 MHz.
• There are no commercial flight operations at Tandag Airport.
• Obstacles include a hill on the approach to runway 03 and a power line on the approach to runway 21.
