Taxis are available at a designated stand directly in front of the airport terminal building. They typically meet all arriving flights. A ride to the Kintai Bridge takes approximately 15 minutes, and a ride to JR Iwakuni Station takes about 20 minutes. Reservations are generally not required.
Several major car rental companies, including Toyota Rent-a-Car, Nippon Rent-A-Car, and Times Car Rental, have service counters inside the terminal building. It is highly recommended to reserve a vehicle in advance, especially during peak travel seasons, to ensure availability.
The main public transit option is the Iwakuni Bus 'Access Bus'. The bus stop is located directly in front of the terminal. The bus schedule is coordinated with flight arrivals and departures, providing convenient connections to key locations like JR Iwakuni Station (approx. 15-minute ride) and the Kintai Bridge. From JR Iwakuni Station, travelers can access the wider JR West train network.
Iwakuni Airport was reopened in Iwakuni Marine Corps Air Station and the same place on December 13, 2012, and the airline of 4 coming and going a day was established between Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) by All Nippon Airways.
