Taxi stands are located directly outside the 1F arrivals lobby. Both standard and shared taxis (Aisoku Taxi) are available. A standard taxi to central Hiroshima City takes about 50-60 minutes. Shared taxis offer a more economical, fixed-fare service to various locations but may require advance reservation.
Car rental counters for major companies like Toyota, Nissan, Orix, Times, and Nippon Rent-A-Car are located in the domestic arrivals lobby on the 1st floor. After checking in at the counter, a shuttle bus transports you to the nearby rental car lots to pick up your vehicle. It is highly recommended to book in advance.
The main form of public transit is the Airport Limousine Bus. Buses offer frequent and direct service to key destinations including Hiroshima Station (approx. 50-60 mins), Hiroshima Bus Center (approx. 55 mins), Fukuyama Station, and Kure Station. Ticket vending machines are available in the arrivals lobby. There is no direct train service to Hiroshima Airport.
Now that Hiroshima-Nishi is closed to all but limited helicopter traffic, this is the closest airport to Hiroshima. Pretty nice back in 2005 last time I was here (on my 2017 and 2019 visits we took the Shinkansen instead).
It's in the mountains so you definitely don't want to overrun ...
