Taxi stands are located on the first floor, outside the arrivals lobby of both the domestic and international terminals. Services include standard and jumbo (van-style) taxis. Fares are metered and are a convenient but more expensive option, especially for long distances to destinations like Sapporo.
Rental car counters for major Japanese and international companies (e.g., Toyota Rent a Car, Nippon Rent-A-Car, Orix, Times) are located on the first floor of the domestic terminal building. After completing paperwork at the counter, customers are typically taken by a shuttle bus to a nearby lot to pick up their vehicle. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is required for most foreign license holders.
New Chitose Airport is well-connected by trains and buses.
- Trains (JR): The JR Airport Station is located in the basement (B1F) of the domestic terminal. The Rapid Airport Express is the fastest option, reaching Sapporo Station in approximately 37 minutes, with frequent departures.
- Buses: Airport Limousine buses provide direct service to various locations in Sapporo (including major hotels and the city center), as well as to other cities and popular ski resorts like Niseko, Rusutsu, and Furano. Bus stops are on the ground floor outside both the domestic and international terminals.
