Circa 2016. Analysis of historical satellite imagery shows the runway was intact and clear in early 2015. By early 2017, large-scale earthworks and construction for a new development were well underway, indicating the airfield ceased operations sometime in 2016.
Economic reasons and land development. The land occupied by the airfield was sold to a major real estate developer (Villar Group) and was repurposed for a more profitable use. The rapid urban expansion in the region made the land significantly more valuable for residential and commercial projects than for private aviation.
The site has been completely and permanently redeveloped. The former runway and airfield grounds are now occupied by the 'Camella Provence' residential subdivision and the 'Golden Haven Memorial Park - Bulacan'. The layout of some roads within the subdivision loosely follows the alignment of the former runway, but all aviation infrastructure has been removed.
Akle Airfield was a privately-owned airstrip. The ICAO code 'PH-0410' was an unofficial, local identifier used in some databases, not a standard ICAO code (which begins with 'RP' for the Philippines). The airfield primarily served the general aviation community. Its operations would have included private recreational flying, agricultural aviation services (such as crop dusting, given its location in an agricultural province), and potentially small-scale charter or corporate flights. It did not handle scheduled commercial passenger traffic and had no known military significance. Its importance was localized, providing an essential facility for private pilots and aviation-related businesses in the Bulacan area.
Zero. The land has been irreversibly converted to a large-scale, populated residential community and a memorial park. Re-establishing an airfield would require the acquisition and demolition of hundreds of homes and other permanent structures, making it economically and logistically impossible.
