Akiak Airport (IATA: AKI, ICAO: PFAK) serves as the primary and essential air link for the remote community of Akiak, Alaska. Located in the Bethel Census Area on the Kuskokwim River, this state-owned, public-use airport is a lifeline for a village not connected to the state’s contiguous road system. Its importance lies in providing year-round access for residents, mail, cargo, and medical services. The airport is situated less than one mile from the center of the village, and access is typically on foot or by local modes of transport such as all-terrain vehicles or snowmachines, depending on the season. There are no formal taxi or shuttle services available.

It is a designated participant in the federal Essential Air Service (EAS) program, which subsidizes flights to ensure reliable and scheduled service to remote areas. These carriers connect Akiak primarily with the regional hub of Bethel (BET), from which passengers can access further flights to Anchorage and other destinations.
