Lakehill Airport (P09) was a privately owned airport located near Mars, Pennsylvania, approximately one mile northwest of the town. It was the smallest of three airports in Butler County.

  • Ownership and Operation: It was privately owned by LAKEHILL AIRPORT LLC and managed by Keith Schneider. The airport was open to the public and became operational in March 1961.
  • Location and Runway: Situated on 19 acres of land, its estimated elevation was 1070 feet MSL. It featured a single turf runway, 05/23, measuring 2,850 x 75 feet, with its width varying between 75 and 85 feet. The runway was marked with orange cones and was closed when snow was present or during wet and thawing periods due to soft conditions.
  • Aircraft and Operations: As of August 2020, two single-engine aircraft and one helicopter were based at the field. Annual operations included 400 local general aviation flights, 200 itinerant general aviation flights, and 10 military operations. The helipad was for private use only.
  • Current Status: As of April 2025, a housing plan is being built on the former airport property.
