An Numaniyah Air Base (ORAN) is a military air base and training center located near the town of An Numaniyah in Wasit Governorate, southern Iraq, approximately 140 kilometers (87 miles) southeast of Baghdad. Its coordinates are roughly 32°30′09″N 45°19′54″E.

• Type of Facility and History: The air base was established in 1973 as an Iraqi Air Force base and underwent significant upgrades in the early 1980s under Saddam Hussein's regime, with construction involving Yugoslavian contractors. During the Iran-Iraq War (1980–1988), it functioned as a primary Iraqi Air Force installation for airstrikes. Following the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, the facility was secured by U.S. Marines and later evolved into a key training hub for nascent Iraqi Army units, including the Iraqi Intervention Force. While some sources indicate it was later considered "defunct" as an air base, its role as a military training center continued with significant renovation efforts.
