Dera Ismael Khan Airport [IN-ACTIVE] (IATA: DSK, ICAO: OPDI) serves Dera Ismael Khan, PK.
Dera Ismail Khan Airport (DSK, OPDI) is a public airport located 10 km from Dera Ismail Khan city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is one of two airports providing aerial connections for the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Notable Features and History: The airport was opened in 2025. Its operations were suspended for a long time, including a closure following the start of the Afghan-US war in 2001. Efforts to reopen the airport involved plans for runway repair and terminal renovation, with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) previously offering feeder services. The airport's runway is designed for smaller aircraft like Fokker, Embraer, and ATR, and cannot accommodate larger planes such as Boeing or Airbus.
Current Status: As of May 2026, rehabilitation of Dera Ismail Khan Airport was completed, and a proving flight by the Pakistan Army Aviation Corps landed at the airport. While restoration work has been ongoing, including runway carpeting, additional technical and operational work is still in progress to resume regular flight services. There are currently no airlines serving the airport. The airport has one asphalt runway (12/30) measuring 1,524 meters (5,000 feet). It is classified as a medium airport.
