Qarnayn Airport (OMAQ) is a small, private airfield located on Qarnayn Island in the Abu Dhabi Emirate of the United Arab Emirates. It is operated by the Zakum Development Company (ZADCO), a joint venture primarily led by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and its primary purpose is to support offshore oil field activities in the region, particularly the Upper Zakum oil field. The airport facilitates the transport of personnel and equipment for oil exploration and production, accommodating helicopters and light fixed-wing aircraft.
The facility features a single sand-surfaced runway, designated 11/29, which measures approximately 3,330 feet (1,015 meters) in length and 157 feet (48 meters) in width, with an elevation of 14 feet (4 meters) above sea level. Access to Qarnayn Airport is restricted to authorized personnel, as it does not handle scheduled commercial passenger flights. The airport was established as part of the Upper Zakum oil field development, with ZADCO formed in November 1977 to manage the field.
