State-run taxis are readily available directly outside the arrivals terminal. Fares are not metered, so it is essential to agree on the price with the driver before starting your journey. Payment is typically made in cash (Cuban Pesos - CUP). This is the most common way to travel to Santa Clara city or the resorts on Cayo Santa Maria.
Several state-run car rental agencies, including Rex, Havanautos, and Cubacar, have desks inside the airport terminal. It is strongly recommended to pre-book your vehicle online well in advance, as availability can be very limited. A valid driver's license and passport are required for rental.
There is no direct public bus service (like Viazul or local city buses) operating from the airport terminal.
