• Slow Security and Baggage Claim: Security lines can be long and disorganized, with reports of insufficient staff and even a lack of basic equipment like trays for personal items. Baggage collection is notoriously slow, often taking over an hour.
• Currency and Payment Issues: Many shops, particularly airside, may refuse Cuban Pesos (CUP) and only accept hard currency like USD or EUR, sometimes giving change in euros. There are no ATMs in Terminal 2.
• Unprofessional and Rude Staff: Several reviews highlight unprofessional, inefficient, and rude behavior from security and immigration personnel, with instances of items being confiscated without clear reason.
• Poor Transportation Connectivity: There are no direct public bus, shuttle, or train services from Terminal 3 (International) to the city center, making taxis or pre-arranged transfers the primary options.
