Official, licensed airport taxis (Cooperativa de Taxis del Aeropuerto) are readily available directly outside the arrivals terminal. Fares to key destinations in Managua are generally fixed, but it is always best to confirm the price with the dispatcher or driver before your trip. This is the most secure and convenient taxi option. Ride-sharing services may be available, but airport pickups can be less reliable than the official taxi cooperative.
Several major international and local car rental companies have service desks within the international arrivals hall, including Avis, Hertz, Budget, Alamo, and National. It is highly recommended to reserve a vehicle in advance for better rates and availability. A valid driver's license, passport, and credit card are required. Be aware that purchasing mandatory local liability insurance is standard practice.
There is no direct public bus stop inside the airport terminal. To access the public bus system, you must walk about 500 meters from the terminal building to the main highway (Carretera Norte). From there, you can catch frequent buses heading into Managua or towards other destinations. This is the most economical option but is not recommended for first-time visitors, those with significant luggage, or anyone arriving late at night due to convenience and safety considerations.
Danger here night shoot out here
...overall they do a really good job here, very modern facilities compared to the rest of Central and Latin America.
