The site is currently abandoned and derelict. The grass runway is completely overgrown and unusable for aircraft. The few small buildings on site, likely former hangars and club facilities, are in a state of disrepair. The land is unused for any formal purpose, and the infrastructure is no longer functional as an airfield.

The designation 'Tetovo Air Base' is a misnomer; it was a civilian sports airfield, more accurately known as Žerovjane Airstrip or Aerodrom Tetovo. The ICAO code 'MK-0014' is an unofficial identifier used in non-governmental databases and flight simulators, not an official ICAO code. Its historical significance is purely local. It served as the home for 'Aeroklub Tetovo' (Aero Club Tetovo) and was a hub for regional aviation enthusiasts. Operations when active included: general aviation with light aircraft, flight training, glider launching and soaring, and parachuting.

There are no known official plans or credible prospects for reopening the airfield. Revitalizing the site would require significant investment to clear and restore the runway, repair or rebuild the facilities, and acquire aircraft. Given the lack of apparent economic or strategic need for a small sports airfield in this specific location, and the proximity to the major Skopje International Airport (LWSK), it is highly unlikely that it will be reopened in the foreseeable future.
