• No Customs/Immigration: Customs/immigration services are not available at LGMG, meaning international entry and exit from Greece must occur via another international airport.
• Overnight Parking Complexity: Overnight parking requires Prior Permission Required (PPR), typically requested at least 48 hours in advance, and can involve complex bureaucratic processes with multiple authorities.
• Limited Parking & Crowded Apron: Parking space is often limited due to high GA traffic, and the apron can become crowded.
• No Fuel on Mondays: Fuel services are unavailable on Mondays.
• Poor Taxiway Signage: Pilots note that taxiways lack proper signage, requiring prior review of ground layouts.

Megara Air Base is well-regarded among the GA community for its affordability and welcoming environment for day visits to Athens. However, its military nature and lack of international passenger facilities mean that international GA flights require a stop at an Airport of Entry elsewhere, and overnight stays demand significant advance planning due to limited parking and administrative procedures.
