🇫🇷 Aix Les Milles airport

The Aix-en-Provence Aerodrome, also known as Aix les Milles Airport (LFMA), is located 6 km west-southwest of Aix-en-Provence, France, in the village of Les Milles. It is not a private ranch airstrip or agricultural strip, but rather an officially certified airport.

• Type of facility: It is dedicated to business aviation, leisure flights, and public service flights. The French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) appointed Edeis to manage the airport for 45 years starting in 2018.
• Location and basic runway information: The aerodrome resides at an elevation of 368 feet (112 m) above mean sea level and has one asphalt runway, 15/33, measuring 1,600 by 30 meters (5,249 ft × 98 ft). Its geographical position is 43°30'19"N 005°22'02"E.
• Known uses: Beyond business and leisure aviation, the airport hosts aircraft maintenance and construction activities, including the airline Twinjet, the maintenance company Kerozen, and helicopter manufacturer Guimbal. It also houses ten or so companies and flying schools.
• Historical significance: It formerly served as a military air base, known as Base Aerienne 114 d'Aix Les Milles. A campus of the École nationale de l'aviation civile (French civil aviation university) is also located at the aerodrome.
