The airport features one asphalt runway, designated 13/31, measuring 5,199 by 100 feet (1,585 x 30 m), with high-intensity edge lighting and an elevation of 694 feet (212 m) above mean sea level. Runway 31 is equipped with an Instrument Landing System (ILS). Primarily serving general aviation, the airport also handles a small percentage of military operations and aims to support economic development in the region.
Historically, the airport's establishment was considered in 1960 by community leaders to attract industry. Construction began in 1970, and it opened in 1975.
