🇺🇸 Renton Municipal Airport

The Renton Municipal Airport (KRNT/RNT), also known as Clayton Scott Field, is a general aviation airport owned and operated by the City of Renton, Washington,. It is located at the south shore of Lake Washington and serves Renton and nearby communities.

• Location: Northwest corner of the City of Renton, Washington, bounded by Rainier Avenue North to the west, Airport Way to the south, the Cedar River to the east, and Lake Washington to the north. The airport's elevation is 32 feet above mean sea level.
• Runway Information: It has a single grooved asphalt and concrete runway, Runway 16/34, which is 5,379 feet long and 200 feet wide,. It also features a seaplane base, the Will Rogers-Wiley Post Memorial Seaplane Base, at the north end along Lake Washington.
• Uses: The airport provides services for air charter, air taxi, corporate flights, business, and recreational flyers. It is an FAA-designated "Reliever" Airport for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport,. The Boeing Commercial Airplane Company uses the airport for the maiden flights of its 737 series aircraft, which are manufactured adjacent to the airport,. • Historical Significance: Originally known as Bryn Mawr Airfield, it began in 1922 as a 1,500-foot soft-surface runway and seaplane base. In 1947, it was signed over to the City of Renton by the federal government with the understanding it would continue to operate as an airport. In 2005, it was named "Clayton Scott Field" in honor of aviation pioneer Clayton Scott.
