The airport features a single asphalt runway, 7/25, measuring 5,002 feet long and 100 feet wide, equipped with a full Instrument Landing System (ILS). Current plans include lengthening this runway to 6,500 feet to accommodate larger aircraft and freight traffic.
KLPR serves as a hub for general aviation, offering services such as flight training, aircraft rental, maintenance, and charter operations through its Fixed Base Operator (FBO), MRK Aviation. It also aims to foster economic development, with an industrial park located adjacent to the airport, and plans for a "Mega Site" to attract businesses. The airport opened on November 4, 1968.
