🇺🇸 Lake Havasu City International Airport

Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport (HII), also known as Lake Havasu City Airport, is a city-owned, public-use airport located six miles north of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It is primarily used for general aviation.

Notable Features and History:

• The airport opened at its current location on June 1, 1991, replacing an older airfield.
• The original airfield, near the present-day city center, was a paved emergency landing field used by the Army Air Corps during World War II.
• Inventor Robert P. McCulloch Sr. chose the Lake Havasu area to relocate his manufacturing facilities due to the original airfield and proximity to the lake, where he could test marine outboard engines.
• The airport was named the 2013 Airport of the Year by the Arizona Department of Transportation.

• A Runway Lights and Signs Improvement Project is planned for January 19, 2026, through February 28, 2026, requiring nightly runway closures.
• The airport will be closed to all aircraft from April 29, 2026, to May 5, 2026, for runway maintenance.
