Rokugo Airfield

Economic reasons and land redevelopment. The site was repurposed for the construction of the 'Misato Rokugo Solar Park', a large-scale photovoltaic power station. This alternative land use was deemed more economically viable than maintaining a small, private airfield with limited traffic.

The site of the former airfield has been completely transformed and is no longer recognizable as an aviation facility. It is now fully occupied by the 'Misato Rokugo Solar Park' (美郷町六郷ソーラーパーク), a large-scale solar power generation plant. The former runway and any associated structures have been removed and replaced by extensive rows of solar panels.

Rokugo Airfield was a small, unpaved/grass private airfield that served the local general aviation and agricultural communities. Its primary functions included:
- **Recreational Aviation:** It was a hub for ultralight aircraft (ULP) and motor gliders, used by local enthusiasts and flying clubs.
- **Agricultural Operations:** The airfield was a critical base for industrial unmanned helicopters used for aerial applications, such as crop dusting and fertilizing the surrounding rice paddies and agricultural fields, a common practice in rural Japan.

Zero. There are no plans or prospects for reopening Rokugo Airfield. The complete redevelopment of the site into a significant piece of energy infrastructure makes its conversion back to an airfield logistically and financially infeasible.
