INS Shibpur to start commercial Service in Dec 2018(till now) when PM Modi visit Andaman Nicobar Islands on 30th December 2018, for which there has been work going on in full swing for the terminal building and extension of runway from 1000 m. This aquisition of and was one of the main hurdle.

This airstrip is on .62 miles long. Not possible for a commercial jet to land.
