Čazma Grabovnica Airfield

The primary reason for the closure was economic and organizational. The airfield was operated by the local aero club, 'Aeroklub Čazma'. The club's activities declined and eventually ceased, leading to the airfield falling into disuse. Without an active club to maintain and operate it, the airfield could not remain functional. There was no specific event, such as a major accident or military conversion, that led to its closure.

The site of the former airfield has been fully reverted to agricultural use. Satellite imagery of the coordinates (45.749699, 16.663601) clearly shows that the land is now comprised of cultivated fields. While a faint outline of the former grass runway is still visible from the air, it is completely overgrown. There is no remaining aviation infrastructure, such as hangars, windsock masts, or buildings, on the property.

Čazma Grabovnica was a small, local general aviation airfield with a single unpaved grass runway. Its historical significance is rooted in its role as a center for recreational and sport aviation for the Čazma community. It was the home base for 'Aeroklub Čazma' and supported activities like light aircraft flying (e.g., Cessna, Piper), glider operations, and pilot training for local enthusiasts. It held no commercial or military importance and served exclusively as a grassroots aviation facility.

There are currently no known plans, official proposals, or local initiatives to reopen the Čazma Grabovnica Airfield. The land has been repurposed for agriculture, the original operating club is defunct, and the economic viability for a new recreational airfield in that specific location is considered very low. Therefore, the prospects for its reopening are effectively non-existent.
