Maypole Airfield

Maypole Airfield, also known as Maypole Farm Airstrip, was a small, private grass airfield. It held no significant national or military importance. Its function was purely for general aviation, serving light single-engine aircraft for recreational purposes and private use by the owner. The ICAO identifier 'GB-1232' is an unofficial code, commonly used in flight simulator software and non-official aviation databases to designate small airfields or farm strips that do not have an official ICAO code (which for the UK would start with 'EG').

There are no known plans, proposals, or prospects for reopening Maypole Airfield. As the land has been re-integrated into the surrounding farmland, any reopening would require significant effort and investment, which is highly unlikely for a small, private strip with no commercial or strategic value.
