March 2, 2011. The closure was formalized by a prefectural decree (arrêté préfectoral), making this an official and exact date.
The airfield was closed voluntarily at the request of its owner and operator, Mr. Jean-Pierre Beck. The closure was not due to any accident, external economic pressure, or military conversion, but rather a personal decision by the operator to cease activities.
The site is no longer recognizable as an airfield. The land has been completely repurposed for renewable energy. A large-scale photovoltaic power plant (solar farm) has been constructed on the former runway and surrounding fields. Satellite imagery confirms the presence of thousands of solar panels covering the area, permanently erasing the aviation infrastructure.
Nossage Le Priora was a private airfield classified as a ULM (Ultra-Léger Motorisé / Ultralight Motorized) platform. It was created by aviation enthusiast Jean-Pierre Beck and received its official authorization to operate on May 24, 1996. The airfield consisted of a single grass runway oriented 02/20, with dimensions of 400 meters in length and 30 meters in width. Its primary function was to support private, recreational flying for the local ultralight aircraft community. It did not handle commercial, scheduled, or heavy aircraft operations.
There are zero prospects for reopening the airfield. The land has been permanently redeveloped for industrial energy production, and the construction of the solar farm makes any return to aviation activities impossible.
