Circa mid-2010s. The exact date is not publicly documented, but activity ceased when the operating club relocated. By 2017, it was widely considered closed by the aviation community.
The closure was due to the relocation of its sole operator, the 'Les Ailes du GERS ULM' flying club, to the larger and better-equipped Auch Lamothe Airfield (LFDH). This was an operational and logistical decision, not the result of an accident or military conversion. Following the club's departure, the private landowner returned the site to its primary agricultural purpose.
The site has been fully decommissioned and has reverted to agricultural land. Current satellite imagery shows a cultivated field where the runway once was. There is no remaining aviation infrastructure, such as hangars, windsocks, or markings, on the property.
Aerodrome de Aubiet (also known by its French ULM identifier LF3228) was a small, private airfield dedicated exclusively to ultralight (ULM/microlight) aircraft. Its significance was purely local, serving as a base for recreational pilots and flight training through the 'Les Ailes du GERS ULM' club. The facility consisted of a single grass runway, approximately 400 meters long, and basic hangar facilities. It never handled commercial, scheduled, or military operations.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the Aerodrome de Aubiet. The land is privately owned and in active agricultural use. The local ULM club is now firmly established at Auch Lamothe, making the need for the former Aubiet field obsolete. Reopening is considered highly improbable.
