Aberporth Airport (EGFA), also known as West Wales Airport, is located southwest of Aberporth, Ceredigion, Wales. It is a public airport with a CAA Ordinary Licence, allowing flights for public transport of passengers or flying instruction, but it is not licensed for night use.
The airport has a single asphalt runway, 07/25, measuring 1,257 meters (4,124 ft) by 30 meters. There is also a Runway 04/22 available by prior arrangement for fixed-wing aircraft not requiring use of a licensed runway. All movements require prior permission (PPR).
Aberporth Airport is primarily used as a center for the deployment and testing of civil and military unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), known as 'drones', within the West Wales UAV Centre connected to ParcAberporth. It has historical significance as RAF Aberporth, a former Royal Air Force satellite station, and was used by various Ministry of Defence entities for testing and trials, including guided weapons and rockets.
