Approximately late 2017, with official de-registration from the list of ultralight airfields by the Czech Civil Aviation Authority (ÚCL) on February 15, 2018.
Economic and urban development. The land, owned by the municipality of Velešín, was repurposed for residential development. The town council decided not to renew the lease with the operating aeroclub in order to create building plots for new family homes, as the location was deemed more valuable for housing expansion.
The site has been completely and permanently redeveloped. The former grass runway and airfield grounds have been converted into a residential zone. New infrastructure, including streets (one ironically named 'K Letišti', meaning 'To the Airport'), utilities, and family houses have been built on the land. All traces of aviation activity have been erased.
Velešín Airport was a small, local grass airstrip (in Czech: 'plocha pro sportovní létající zařízení' or SLZ plocha). Its significance was purely recreational and community-based. It was operated by the local aeroclub, Aeroklub Velešín, and served as a base for ultralight aircraft, motor gliders, and sport aviation enthusiasts from the region. It was not a commercial airport and handled no scheduled passenger or cargo traffic. Its primary function was to support the activities of the local flying club and private pilots.
None. The site has been irrevocably transformed into a residential housing area. The land is now occupied by private homes and municipal infrastructure, making any future reopening of the airport physically impossible.
