Taxi services are the primary mode of transportation from the airport to the hamlet. Given the small size of the community, it is highly recommended to pre-book a taxi before your arrival. Services can be limited, and you may need to call for a pickup once you land. The ride into town is very short.
There are no major car rental agencies (e.g., Hertz, Avis, Enterprise) at Igloolik Airport or in the community. Limited vehicle rentals, often trucks or ATVs depending on the season, may be available through local hotels or the co-op. These must be arranged well in advance by contacting the businesses directly.
There is no public transportation system, such as a bus service, in Igloolik. The community is small and generally walkable.
