Irvine Lake Airport

Undocumented. As a small private airstrip, the most probable reason for closure is abandonment by its owner(s). This could be due to the owner no longer flying, selling the property, the prohibitive cost of maintenance, or the cessation of a related business.

The airport is permanently closed and abandoned. Current satellite imagery shows the former runway is completely overgrown with trees and shrubs and is being reclaimed by the surrounding forest. The site is unusable for any aviation activity and is private land.

The airstrip has no major historical significance. It was a remote, unpaved runway located in the Hastings Highlands of Ontario, Canada (Note: The location is in Canada, not California, USA). It was almost certainly used for private, recreational general aviation, providing access for small aircraft (e.g., bush planes) to a private residence, cottage, or possibly a small-scale fly-in hunting or fishing operation.

There are no known or published plans to reopen the airstrip. Given its remote location, advanced state of disrepair, and private nature, any prospect of reopening would be solely dependent on a new private owner's initiative and would require significant financial investment to clear and restore. Reopening is considered highly improbable.
