Circa late 2000s (approximately 2008-2009). The aerodrome was officially delisted from the Canada Flight Supplement (CFS) around this period, with the land being prepared for redevelopment in the years that followed.
Economic and change of land use. Lucknow Airpark was a privately owned airfield. The owner sold the property, which was then acquired for redevelopment into a commercial renewable energy project. This is a common fate for small, private airfields located on valuable land.
The site has been completely repurposed and is no longer an aviation facility. A large portion of the former airport property, including the area of the former runway, is now occupied by the 'Lucknow Airport Solar Project,' a 10 MW ground-mount solar farm. While the faint outline of the old grass runway is still partially visible in satellite imagery, the land is covered with solar panels and related infrastructure. The property is private and used for commercial power generation.
Lucknow Airpark was a small, private general aviation aerodrome that served recreational pilots and light aircraft owners in the Bruce County area of Ontario. It featured a single turf runway, designated 08/26, which was approximately 2600 feet long. Its operations were limited to private VFR (Visual Flight Rules) flights, providing a local base for hobbyist pilots. It held no major commercial or military significance but was a part of the local aviation fabric for a number of years.
There are no plans or prospects for reopening the airport. The permanent installation of a large-scale solar farm on the property makes its conversion back to an aviation facility economically unfeasible and practically impossible. The land use has been permanently changed.
