Wolf Creek Airport

Change of ownership and economic reasons. The airport was a private airstrip located on a property known as Wolf Creek Ranch. The ranch was listed for sale around 2016-2017, and upon its sale, the new owners did not continue to maintain and register the facility as an active aerodrome.

The site is private property and is no longer a registered airport. Recent satellite imagery shows the runway is still clearly visible but is unmaintained and returning to a natural state. The land is part of the private Wolf Creek Ranch and is used for residential and agricultural/ranching purposes. It is not accessible to the public or for any aviation activity.

Wolf Creek Airport, officially known as Wasa Aerodrome with the Transport Canada Location Identifier CEX3, was a private airfield. The identifier CA-0821 is an unofficial code, likely originating from a non-governmental database or flight simulator software. The airport featured a single turf/gravel runway approximately 2,600 feet long. It was operational from at least the early 1980s and served as a private utility and recreational airstrip for the owners of Wolf Creek Ranch and visiting pilots who had secured prior permission (PPR). Operations were limited to light, single-engine aircraft, providing convenient private air access to the Wasa area in the Kootenay region of British Columbia.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the airport. As it is on private land, any potential for reopening would be entirely at the discretion of the current landowner and would require significant effort to meet Transport Canada standards for re-registration as an aerodrome. No such initiatives have been made public.
